The rundown

We love working with boutique brands that have a unique product and a strong identity. When Lili Bermuda, a century-old Bermudan perfumery run by Canadian scent-smith Isabelle Ramsay-Brackstone, approached us about redesigning their website, we hopped right on board.

Context

We had actually designed Isabelle’s first website in 2006, when she launched her first scent for the Bermuda perfumery, so we were familiar with the backstory. However, the brand was blossoming and it was time to upgrade the website to reflect their evolution.

Mandate

Perfume is a highly sensory experience that’s difficult to recreate in a digital space, so our mission was to design and develop an e-commerce website that brought users as close to the real Lili Bermuda storefront as possible. The new configuration also needed to integrate the company’s two in-store point-of-sale (POS) systems.

Challenge

Beyond increasing online sales and promoting the brand, the look and feel of the new website needed to evoke Lili Bermuda’s island spirit. So, naturally, we immersed ourselves in Bermudan life (it's a tough gig but someone's gotta do it) and kept Isabelle's mantra top-of-mind: art reflects environment.

Goals

  • Boost online business by building loyalty with existing clients and brand affinity with new clients
  • Replicate the in-store experience online
  • Guide consumers throughout the purchasing process
  • Reduce the operational workload for Isabelle and her team

Process

Using the Shopify framework, our team built an attractive e-commerce store that reflects the brand's strong connection to its Caribbean roots.

The new gift section features a special discovery gift set to encourage new clients to sample the products before committing to a fragrance.

Vivid descriptions of their products’ olfactory notes are a sophisticated touch, like wine tasting cards for the nose.

Un questionnaire interactif permet de guider le consommateur et de lui faire découvrir les fragrances qui expriment ses préférences et sa personnalité.

To reduce the workload for Isabelle and her team, we integrated Shopify’s point-of-sale (POS) system for all store transactions. We also integrated Shopify with their shipping management platform, allowing the team to efficiently manage and process orders. Shopify’s content management module also allows Lili Bermuda's team to easily share stories, inspiration and news with both new and returning customers.
